Cosmopolitan Memories, a theatre piece is a contemporary performance by Anh-Duy Pham centered around the theme “The Fragmentation of the Self in Humanitarian Crisis,” inspired by the psychological theory of self-concept as articulated by Carl Rogers. Drawing inspiration from the game of hide-and-seek, the production vividly portrays the shattering and eventual rebirth of human identity dealing with crisis and lingering trauma, symbolized through a dynamic game of chase in the interplay of darkness and rotating beams of light.
